Ships and aircraft participating in the Rim of the Pacific 2016 exercise sank the decommissioned USS Thach (FFG-43) in waters 15,000 feet deep, 55 nautical miles north of Kauai, Hawaii. The USS Thach (FFG-43), the 34th ship of the Oliver Hazard Perry-class guided missile frigates, took a beating and was still afloat for some time afterward. The Long video (you can skip past long damage shots) shows what looks like two Harpoons hitting the port side midship, damage from an unseen attack to the landing pad area, and a MK48 torpedo shot that seems to explode a little short of the target causing damage but failing to break off the bow section. Tough little ships - LCS isn't in the same league (nor was it designed to be).
