CHANDIGARH: The two drug addicts had kidnapped 11-year-old Pinki when she was crossing a subway near her school at Palsora inSector 56 on November 27 last year, confined her in a temporary shed in the forest near Sector 52 and sexually abused her for three days before killing her, the interrogation of the two accused arrested on Sunday has revealed. The body of Pinki was found stuffed in a jute bag in the woods on December 1, sparking outrage in the city and triggering protests against the police. The police zeroed in on Anirudh and Raj Kumar alias Raja after the cyber crime cell found their mobile tower location tallied with the data of call detail records of thousands of cellphones collected from surrounding areas of Palsora during those fateful days. The two had allegedly murdered an ATM guard on November 10. The police had arrested them for the murder on December 17, not knowing they were also responsible for the kidnap-and-murder of Pinki. UT SSP Sukhchain Singh Gill said, "The probe revealed that Anirudh and Raja were kept in Ropar jail in connection with the murder of the ATM guard. The two were brought on production warrants and confessed their involvement in kidnapping and murdering the girl." On Monday, a local court sent the two in police custody for three days. A member of the investigation team told TOI the accused, who sniffed correction fluid, hid the girl under a temporary shed of bushes. Sources told TOI, "One of the accused stayed with the victim while the other went and bought eatables between November 27 and 30. The two murdered the girl on the intervening night of November 29 and 30." Click here
